Instrument Lead

JOB OVERVIEW

Oman Tank Terminal Co (OTTCO), part of OQ, is recruiting an Instrument Lead for Duqm, Oman. The role is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of instrumentation, control and automation systems across OTTCO facilities, with a strong focus on reliability, compliance and operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead maintenance of field instruments, analyzers, fire and gas detection systems, and associated control equipment.
• Supervise maintenance of DCS, PLC, ESD and SCADA systems.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for critical instrumentation and control issues.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, ISA and OEM requirements for calibration, testing and certification.
• Coordinate with Operations, HSSE, Projects and IT/OT teams to support automation-system reliability.
• Manage critical spares, vendor and contractor performance, maintenance records and compliance reporting.
• Promote predictive maintenance, smart instrumentation and continuous-improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation/Control Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive instrumentation and control maintenance experience in oil & gas, terminals, refineries or petrochemical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of field instrumentation, analyzers, safeguarding systems and control systems.
• Proficiency in SAP PM and instrumentation maintenance workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, leadership, communication and documentation skills.
• ISA/IEC certifications, OEM DCS/PLC training or TÜV functional-safety certification are preferred.
