JOB OVERVIEW
Aramco is recruiting an experienced Process Simulation Twin & Optimization Engineer for its Reliability Solutions Department within the Global Manufacturing Excellence organization in Saudi Arabia. The role connects process engineering, digital twins, real-time plant data and advanced optimization to improve refinery performance and reliability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead development, deployment and sustainment of process simulation twins integrating real-time plant data with rigorous simulation engines.
- Configure and troubleshoot connectivity between plant historians, laboratory information systems and simulation software.
- Use digital twins to monitor facility health and identify performance gaps.
- Develop and maintain thermodynamic and mathematical models that represent current facility conditions.
- Conduct engineering studies, debottlenecking analysis and what-if scenarios based on operating conditions.
- Lead technical coordination between data, operations and process-engineering teams.
- Support optimization of major refinery process units and benchmark performance across operating facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in process simulation, online modeling or real-time optimization; 20 years preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in process engineering and flowsheet-based simulation; equation-oriented simulation preferred.
- Strong understanding of refinery facilities, process yields, mass and energy balances and live industrial data integration.
- Experience with data historians, OPC connectivity, data reconciliation and model tuning.
