Software Engineer II - Backend

JOB OVERVIEW

talabat is hiring a Software Engineer II - Backend in Dubai to design, build and release scalable backend software within cross-functional product teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in product discovery and technical design with cross-functional teams.
• Design, implement, test and release backend features in small, reliable increments.
• Own software quality and improve engineering practices across the development lifecycle.
• Build and evolve distributed systems, microservices and event-driven services.
• Simplify systems and processes while improving scalability and maintainability.
• Contribute to automated testing, continuous delivery and production reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of software-engineering experience.
• Experience with XP practices such as TDD, pair programming, simple design and refactoring.
• Backend experience with.NET, Golang or C#.
• Experience with automated end-to-end testing, distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
• Exposure to AWS, GCP or Azure and continuous-delivery/trunk-based-development practices.
