Process Engineer, Hydro-Processing - OQ8

JOB OVERVIEW

Duqm Refinery & Petrochem is recruiting a Process Engineer, Hydro-Processing for OQ8 in Duqm, Oman. The role supports the development, implementation and continuous improvement of process-optimization activities for hydro-processing units, including HPU, DHT and HCU operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze plant data using PI and LIMS and provide technical solutions for operational deviations.
• Identify optimization and debottlenecking opportunities to improve unit performance and efficiency.
• Coordinate and review design work, heat and material balances and minor plant modifications.
• Develop and validate process-simulation and optimization studies.
• Monitor process equipment and perform root-cause analysis with corrective-action recommendations.
• Lead HAZOP, PSSR, MOC and process-safety review activities within the assigned scope.
• Provide process-engineering support, develop technical procedures and advanced simulation/performance tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and review engineering studies, proposals and technical deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Engineering degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering or a relevant field.
• At least 5 years of relevant refining/process-engineering experience.
• Experience in HPU, DHT and HCU hydro-processing operations and optimization or a relevant field.
• Experience with process improvement, debottlenecking, refinery commissioning, start-up and troubleshooting.
• Strong Process Safety Management, HAZOP and MOC experience.
• Advanced proficiency in HYSYS, PetroSIM, UniSim or comparable process-simulation tools.
• Excellent written, reading and spoken English.
• Strong communication, analytical, planning, leadership and mentoring skills.
