Protection & Control Engineer

JOB OVERVIEW

Aramco is recruiting a Protection & Control Engineer for its Technical Services Division in a full-time role within Saudi Arabia. The position provides specialized technical support for protection-system design, relay settings, system modeling and power-system studies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct protection-relay settings calculations, coordination reviews and verification.
• Lead or support power-system disturbance and interruption investigations.
• Review protection philosophies, relay settings, study reports and engineering deliverables.
• Perform and validate load-flow, short-circuit, protection-coordination, arc-flash and transient-stability studies using ETAP.
• Conduct transient and electromagnetic studies using ETAP and PSCAD.
• Support commissioning, site testing, troubleshooting and post-event analysis.
• Maintain and govern ETAP power-system models and provide technical consultation to operations and maintenance teams.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university; advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in power-system protection and control with direct involvement in system studies, relay settings and operational investigations.
• Advanced ETAP proficiency and practical PSCAD experience.
• Knowledge of ANSI and IEC protection philosophies and relevant IEEE, IEC, NFPA and Aramco standards.
• Professional Engineering certification or equivalent is a plus.
