Pastry Chef

JOB OVERVIEW

Mövenpick Hotel Al Zaytoon Baghdad, part of Accor, is recruiting a Pastry Chef to produce high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, cakes, and bakery products while maintaining food-safety and presentation standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare pastries, cakes, breads, desserts, and bakery products to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Maintain quality, consistency, creativity, hygiene, and food-safety standards.
• Comply with HACCP principles, local food-safety regulations, and health and safety requirements.
• Manage daily requisitions and pastry inventory while controlling ingredient use and waste.
• Coordinate production schedules with the Executive Chef and kitchen team.
• Develop new pastry recipes and dessert concepts and support menu and seasonal planning.
• Maintain a clean and efficient pastry station and support team development.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on pastry operations experience in a professional kitchen.
• Strong international pastry skills including chocolate, confectionery, ice cream, and bakery work.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food-safety regulations.
• Inventory-management and food-cost-control capability.
• Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills.
