Protection Specialist

JOB OVERVIEW

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is recruiting a Protection Specialist in Diyala to provide technical leadership for high-quality protection programming, with particular focus on case management and programming addressing violence against women and girls.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical guidance and quality assurance for protection case management, referral pathways and protection response activities.
• Strengthen staff capacity through coaching, mentoring, training and field-level technical support.
• Support protection analysis, programme design, data quality, monitoring and learning, including safe and ethical information management.
• Coordinate with programme, legal, MEAL and protection teams and represent DRC in relevant protection coordination mechanisms.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 4 years of relevant international protection programming experience, including case management and work addressing violence against women and girls.
• University or master’s degree relevant to humanitarian work, preferably law, social work, gender studies, social sciences or humanitarian assistance.
• Strong experience in technical guidance, capacity building, information management, analysis, monitoring and reporting.
• Fluency in Arabic and English is required; Kurdish is an asset.
