Power Cable Tech Specialist

JOB OVERVIEW

Aramco is recruiting a Power Cable Tech Specialist for its Power Operations Organization. The role performs underground power-cable installation, repair, fault location, testing, maintenance and commissioning for cables rated from 2.4kV to 115kV and provides direction to junior personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, repair, maintain and test high-voltage transmission and distribution cables.
• Perform cable fault-location diagnostics, commissioning tests and preventive maintenance.
• Carry out cable splicing, terminations, taps, potheads, transitions and related field activities.
• Supervise excavation, cable laying, de-energization, grounding and restoration-to-service activities.
• Train junior technicians in diagnostics, testing, repair and maintenance methods.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma/industrial degree in an electrical field; a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• 12 years of experience, including at least 10 years in power-system construction, commissioning, maintenance and operation with emphasis on transmission and distribution.
• Strong knowledge of underground-cable safety requirements and applicable U.S. and Saudi electrical codes.
• Relevant certifications in areas such as first aid, fire protection, work permits, cable splicing or testing are preferred.
• Excellent English communication skills.
