Downstream Sustainability Specialist

JOB OVERVIEW

Aramco is recruiting a Downstream Sustainability Specialist for the Downstream Sustainability Unit within the Downstream Finance Admin Area. The role supports sustainability strategy, carbon transparency, product carbon-footprint work, regulatory monitoring and sustainability-related commercial initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor downstream sustainability and lower-carbon regulations and assess their impact on operations, economics and strategy.
• Develop sustainability narratives, executive briefings and scenario analyses covering carbon pricing and market developments.
• Develop and maintain product-level life-cycle assessments and carbon-accounting methodologies aligned with recognized standards.
• Manage sustainability certifications and maintain audit-ready datasets and documentation.
• Support commercial teams, external stakeholder engagement and management reporting for downstream carbon-transparency initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Energy or a related discipline; postgraduate study is preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of oil-and-gas industry experience, including five years in sustainability, carbon management, regulatory compliance or related roles.
• Exposure to downstream fuels, chemicals or refining value chains is preferred.
• Carbon accounting, LCA or sustainability-certification experience is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, reporting, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
